Bomber Command Mosquito Fine China Mug by Leonardo is 3.75"/9.5cm tall, with a 3.3"/8.5cm diameter and features the iconic WWII de Havilland Mosquito fighter bomber aircraft famous for its part played in the battle of the air war campaign of WWII. This unique aircraft was known as "the wooden wonder" as it was fabricated out of mainly wood which made it especially light yet very rugged and durable. When this was matched with twin Rolls-Royce Merlin engines made this special aircraft the fastest plane on earth until late into the war when more advanced jet aircraft were developed. This meant it was used for high speed reconnaissance and bombing missions as well as pathfinder roles. The aircraft was built in many different factories and workshops, due to many wooden boat building techniques utilised in its construction making it very difficult for the enemy to find & destroy production. Every officially RAF licensed mug contributes through the license fee to the Bomber Command Memorial & Maintenance Appeal Fund.
